Hello, I'm Hillary Wilson

Marriage & Family Therapist

Hello, I’m Hillary.
I am a Marriage and Family therapist with over 25 years of experience working
with individuals and families. I have also worked for many years in school
counseling and providing parenting classes.

During our first session, I want to get to know you and how I can best support
your goals. I was drawn to become a therapist in college after losing my mother.
Therapy helped me heal and grow as a person. I enjoy guiding others to heal and
grow in therapy. My goal is to teach you how to navigate through life’s stressors
while achieving your goals.

I provide a warm, comfortable, and non-judgmental approach while challenging
you to look at your life situations, process your choices, and consider if they work
for you or against you. I can help you create a plan to resolve unnecessary
stressors and move your life forward. I utilize solution focused and cognitive
behavioral therapy tools. My foundation is in family systems and psychodynamic.
I believe it is our experience in our family growing up that shapes us, but some of
our coping skills that we learn or develop do not help us later in adult life. They
can hold us in negative, unhealthy patterns. During your sessions, I will ask
questions to guide your self discovery process and lead you to develop
awareness and trust your inner knowingness to the solutions that work best for
you. I am a trained listener and I will listen, share what I hear, provide feedback
often writing diagrams, scales from 1 to 10 and other useful tools to build your
confidence in self-directing your progress.

My work is focused on individual and family therapy to help with parenting
strategies, healing from divorce or losses, and adoption counseling for couples
and individuals needing a therapist that truly understands the complexity of
fostering and adoption themes.
